g-bits.co.uk 6-Coupled Diesel Chassis

Our 6-coupled diesel chassis is based on the sturdy Aristocraft unit from their C-16 steam locomotive, and provides a simple ready to run solution for builders of older outline non-bogie diesel and electric machinery. Overall wheelbase is 131.6mm (5.2 inches), with a driver diameter of 37.3mm (1.47 inches), and thanks to flangeless centre wheels, the unit will negotiate 5 foot diameter (approx 1500mm diameter) or 2.5 foot radius (approx 750mm radius) curves - LGB R2 or greater. This unit is available to 45mm gauge (Gauge 1 / G45) only.

The motor block is available in 4 different versions, with a choice of which centre axle is replaced by the cranks, and with and without bosses for connecting or driving rods. The photograph above shows Type1 (left), and Type4 (right). Whatever the options selected each unit costs £90 (inc.VAT).
